Mr Joseph E. Schoonmaker
Chairman, New York District Export Council

Joe E. Schoonmaker has been involved in the US business community for over 3 decades working with a number of major financial organizations while focusing on international banking, trade finance and insurance programs. Mr Schoonmaker’s past international banking experience includes various officer positions with the American Express Bank, the State Street Bank of Boston, The Chase Manhattan Bank and the Bank of America. At the moment, he is Chairman of the New York District Export Council which is affiliated with the US Department of Commerce and was appointed to this position by the US Secretary of Commerce. While head of the World Trade Council of Westchester, he won the President’s “E” Award for excellence in export promotion. He is a licensed insurance broker in the State of New York. And, a member of the Board of Advisors of Export University. Mr Schoonmaker is a graduate of Fordham University with a degree in economics.
