Dr Vincent Cheng
Director of Building Sustainability, Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Limited

Dr Vincent Cheng is a Director of Arup, the leading global engineering consultant. In Arup, he is the leader of Building Sustainability Group in East Asia, responsible for the development of sustainability business of the region. Dr Cheng is an industry-known expert in sustainable building in Hong Kong, specialising in green code formulation, LEED certification, life-cycle analysis and green technology applications. He has extensive experience in designing and managing large-scale sustainable master planning and infrastructure projects, including the district cooling system in Hong Kong and the Dongtan eco-city in Shanghai. In recent years, he is also involved in the design of many Zero Carbon Buildings in China, Hong Kong an Korea and has advised clients on climate change – resilient strategies.

Dr Cheng is a council member of the Hong Kong Professional Green Building Council, a professional body that regularly advises the HKSAR government and the industry on sustainable building issues. Currently, he is also sitting in the advisory committee of School of Energy and Environment, the City University of Hong Kong.
