Stefano Tordiglione moved from Italy to Hong Kong in 2007, working for an Italian interior design firm before setting up his eponymous studio three years later. Specialising in interior design and architectural services, and with clients based in Asia and Europe, the team comprises about 10 employees in Hong Kong, with freelance staff based in Italy. Mr Tordiglione explains what brought him to Asia.

When Italian Jacopo Contiero moved to Hong Kong in 2009, the then 21-year-old knew that he wanted to set up his own business. Armed with a chemistry degree, Mr Contiero launched Bibini Nice Cream, featuring handmade gelato. A year later, he opened a pizza shop, Jacomax, which now has two outlets on Hong Kong Island. Named after the iconic Italian motorised bicycles, Motorino has often been lauded as one of the best pizzerias in New York City. It’s frequented by top Italian chefs, including Mario Batali. Mr Mathieu Palombino opened his first Motorino restaurant overseas last month in Hong Kong. Located in SoHo, the menu features Motorino’s signature dishes, including Proscuitto di Parma Pizza and Octopus Salad.
