Rod was born and raised in Vancouver. Graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, he followed that up with a Master of Business Administration from the University of San Francisco in 1993. He succeeded his father as President and General Manager of Wing Wing Company Limited in 1995.

Wing Wing is a Vancouver company that specializes in manufacturing Chinese-style pork sausages. This family business was established by Rod’s grandfather in 1908 after he emigrated from Guangdong to Canada. Rod has been involved in the business development of the company for over two decades. He has also travelled extensively to grow the company’s international client base. During the years, Wing Wing has continued to fine-tune its traditional recipe and use the best and healthiest-possible ingredients from around the world including Canadian-raised pork and soy sauce from Hong Kong. The Wing Wing brand and associated brands today are renowned in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

In addition to leading his Wing Wing team to grow the company, Rod also enjoys an active Canadian West Coast lifestyle including skiing, fly fishing, golf, squash, badminton, tennis and family adventure with his wife and two children. Rod is engaged as well in the rigorous Level Three studies of the Wine and Spirits Educational Trust (WSET). He served on the Board of West Vancouver’s Hollyburn Country Club from 2010 to 2014 chairing their Food and Beverage Committee.
