Dr Peter Lee
Chief Technology Officer, Nano and Advanced
Materials Institute Limited (NAMI)
Dr Lee joined NAMI in Oct 2009 as Chief Technology Officer after more than 20 years in the US working in the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries. He is managing applied research in NAMI covering a broad range of market sectors including electronics, energy and environmental technologies.
Dr Lee started his career at Applied Materials, Inc. in 1988, developing and productizing various thin film technologies for the fabrication of advanced semiconductor devices. In 2005, he joined a startup company Oraxion which pioneered wafer stress measurement metrology as the VP of Technology and Application. Oraxion was acquired by Ultratech Inc. a year later in 2006, where he remained as VP of technical marketing for both the Stress Measurement and Laser Anneal products. He then joined another startup company Archers Systems in 2009, a turnkey solar manufacturing equipment company, developing amorphous Si thin film CVD technology and equipment.
Dr Lee received his BSc degree in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science from University of California at Berkeley and his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Minnesota where his research focused on MOCVD of GaAs. He has over 30 publications and holds more than 30 patents.
