Ms Elizabeth L. Thomson

Elizabeth Thomson has been a pioneer in enabling entrepreneurs and mid size companies from North America and Europe to successfully surmount the challenges of doing business in China using Hong Kong as a Gateway since the early days of 1980.
After selling her company ICS TRUST to a major international player, Ms Thomson has established a new career as an Angel Investor and Mentor to Entrepreneurs and established her family’s charitable foundation. Fond of saying “I am a lawyer by profession, an entrepreneur by choice” Ms Thomson is a member of the Law Societies of Ontario, Canada, UK, Hong Kong and Australia.
Elizabeth is a former board member of the American Chamber and The Women’s Foundation in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Canada Business Association Toronto. She is currently a Governor of the Canadian Chamber which she helped found in the late 70’s. She was recognised as “Women Entrepreneur of the Year” by Amcham and her company received numerous awards and honours for its international work. Ms Thomson has been a leader in establishing the first women’s business organisations in Hong Kong including the Women Business Owner’s Club and the Women’s Network at the Canadian Chamber. She sits on the advisory board of the McGill Faculty of Law and the boards of various private companies internationally.
As an Angel Investor and through her community work with charities and start ups, Ms Thomson believes that giving back to Hong Kong her adopted community that this has contributed to her personal success. Elizabeth Thomson’s network is actively used to showcase other outstanding women in their Entrepreneurial ventures and as Non-Executive Board Members.
